Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Garage Sale Steering Committee made the difficult decision to cancel the annual Habitat Garage Sale this year. According to guidelines from public health organizations and the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church, we are still not allowed to host any gatherings in our buildings. But also, our volunteer base generally falls into the high-risk category for the disease, and we wanted to avoid exposing them or anyone in the community accidentally. We are disappointed to cancel a beloved community event, but it was the right decision. In the meantime, we can still raise money for Habitat for Humanity to support their work, especially during this difficult time.
September 18–October 4, 2020
Because we had to cancel the Garage Sale this year, a lot of people were left disappointed—both by the lack of some really good deals at the sale, but also by the lack of a tangible way to support the work of Habitat for Humanity. So Faith Church decided to take our Garage Sale operating funds, plus some extra designated funds to set up a matching fund for Habitat for Humanity!
Total Donations: $21,560
Now that Faith Church has completed its matching phase, we're turning to the community to bring our total up to $25,000. Invite your friends and neighbors to give directly to Habitat between now and October 18! Instructions for donations are below.
