Special Services
Throughout the year, there are several special worship services that celebrate important holidays of the church. Christmas and Easter are prime examples, but there are also smaller holidays, like Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday.
Ash Wednesday
This all-ages worship service will help you enter into a holy season of Lent with the imposition of ashes and holy communion.
Maundy Thursday
Enter into the holiest days of the year with this thoughtful, moving worship service observing the last days of Jesus’ life. This service includes a hand-washing ritual.
GOOD FRIDAY
A number of churches on the Plateau meet at Sammamish Commons every year for a short Stations of the Cross service at noon on Good Friday.
Easter
Easter Sunday is one of the most joyful, life-giving days of the Christian year. We do a sunrise service at Beaver Lake Pavilion, as well regular services at Faith in the Sanctuary.
Blessing of the Animals
On Labor Day weekend, instead of our normal worship service in our building, we meet in the park and invite our members and our neighbors to bring their pets and stuffed animals for a special blessing in honor of St. Francis of Assisi.
Longest Night
For all who struggle with grief, anxiety, or loss during the holiday season, or for anyone who might need a quieter space to think about the true meaning of Christmas, we offer a contemplative worship experience of word, music, silence, and prayer. All are welcome.
This year, Faith is invited to attend an online service produced by 3 UMC congregations in Redmond, Bothell, and Edmonds.
Christmas
On Christmas Eve, we have four services livestreamed on Facebook:
